Regarding a proposed tax levy for infrastructure.
I believe infrastructure is a city government’s main job. Any “extra” projects outside that main job should be financed by an “extra levy” – if agreed to by the taxpayers.
Let's talk about the millions our council agreed to spend on homeless housing.
Why not put this money into a “special levy.” It would make more sense, as well as cover all costs associated with the homeless issues, eg: cost of cleaning up camps, picking up needles, extra policing, injection sites, tax free facilities, donations of land, things like that.
Put it to a vote, and get all citizens to pony up, not just homeowners.
