Teddy Bear toss goes Sat.

With Christmas just around the corner, the annual Penticton Vees Teddy Bear Toss game goes this Saturday.

Fans are encouraged to bring a Teddy Bear or item of warm clothing to throw on the ice after the first Vees’ goal. Donations will be forwarded to and distributed through the local Salvation Army to families in need.

"This is a special game that a lot of people have circled on their calendars. Not only is it going to be a fast-paced game against a tough opponent, it's also a chance for our fans to show once again why they're the best in the league by making our teddy bear toss night the biggest one in the BCHL,” said Vees’ coach and GM Fred Harbinson.

“Everyone is looking forward to seeing well over 3,000 people in the stands for what will be a special evening."

The game sees Penticton host division-rival Wenatchee Wild in the second half of a home-and-home.

Going back the last four years, Teddy Bear goals have come from Taylor Ward, Chris Klack, Scott Conway and Steen Cooper.

James Miller appears to be the favourite to net this year’s Teddy Bear goal, according to comments on the Penticton Vees’ Facebook page.

Puck drops at 6 p.m.
