Trailer burns down to frame

The Oliver Fire Department was called to a trailer fire early this morning on the Osoyoos Indian Band reserve.

Firefighters were called to 3890 Nk’Mip Rd at about 1:45 a.m., arriving to find a fifth-wheel trailer fully engulfed.

“Because of its location, it's outside of our normal boundaries, it did take a little bit extra time to get there,” said fire department spokesman Rob Graham.

The trailer's occupant was not home at the time of the fire, which burned the trailer completely down to its frame, he said.

Due to the extent of the damage, it’s unlikely a cause of the fire will be determined.

Fire crews were on scene for about an hour dealing with the blaze.
