Lace up your skates – Kelowna's outdoor rink will be opening early this year.

The city announced Tuesday the rink will be ready to carve up on Nov. 30, weather permitting. In the past, it has opened on Dec. 1. 

“We're opening early to accommodate a special event,” the city said, but provided no further details on what that might be.

Skating will continue to be free from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
