Scene of gunfire

Alanna Kelly

UPDATE: 1 p.m.

Just one officer remains at a home where a shot was fired on Sutherland Avenue Monday evening.

The incident occurred about 8:30 when two men apparently entered the basement suite and got into an altercation with two other individuals inside.

Numerous police officers responded to the scene.

Jessalyn Broadfoot, a resident in the area, told Castanet News she saw one officer holding a big assault rifle during the ordeal.

"There were people sitting in a red car, apparently it was an undercover cop," she said.

"It's a lovely street to live on," Broadfoot added, "but we see a lot of things on this street just based on the location being close to downtown."

Another neighbour said she called police on a number of occasions because there were arguments multiple times at the home.
