Snow to fall on Connector

While periods of rain are expected in Kelowna overnight, snow is forecast to fall at higher elevations.

Environment Canada says up to five centimetres of snow is expected to hit parts of the Okanagan Connector overnight, beginning in the early evening.

While the freezing level will be at about 1,400 metres at the beginning of the night, it's expected to drop to the Valley bottom after midnight. The Pennask Summit is at 1,717 metres elevation.

The Coquihalla, with a summit that sits at just over 1,200 metres elevation, will see periods of rain through the night, with some wet snow near the summit.

Big White, which currently boasts an early season base of 66 centimetres, will get some snow overnight as well.

Rain in Kelowna is expected to ease after midnight, followed by sunny skies Friday and through the weekend.
