Last push for road work

The City of Penticton is advising residents that both Front Street and Backstreet Boulevard will be closed at during daytime periods Nov. 19 to 21.

The closure is to allow for crews to dig trenches for electrical conduit.

“The City of Penticton thanks the public for its patience while this work is carried out”, said the City’s electric utility manager, Shawn Filice.

Access to both roads will resume in the evening.

The City of Penticton says the ongoing project to underground the utilities above the Main Street east alleyway is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.

Filice explained that the road closures are a part of the last push for crews to complete the project before asphalt plants close at the end of November.
