Snow show is a go

It is kind of fitting that on the day much of the Southern Interior receives its first snowfall, the province's only winter power sports snow show also drops.

The BC Provincial Snow Show is taking place today and tomorrow at Kal Tire Place in Vernon.

Thousands of winter power sports enthusiasts from across the country will make their way to the event.

"We are anticipating 80 vendors with new products, snowmobiling gear, accessories, anything related to snow sports, as well as all the new 2019 sleds will be out on display," says organizer Trevor Clarke.

The BC Provincial Snow Show is hosted by the Vernon Snowmobile Association.

The event is a great showcase for not only the snow sports business but also the community.

"It brings a lot of money into the area for the weekend," says Clarke. "Generally speaking, we have 4,000 to 5,000 people come through in the two days."

The snowmobiling club is a non-profit society. Clarke says door donations will go to a non-profit society like the Easter Seals.

Doors open Friday (today) at 4 p.m. and Saturday (tomorrow) at 10 a.m.
