Vees beat Vipers in OT

The Penticton Vees defeated the Vernon Vipers 3-2 in overtime Wednesday, pushed by a 3-for-6 powerplay squad.

James Miller opened scoring in the second, with his 10th of the season. That Vees lead was short lived, however, as Ben Sanderson took a rink-wide feed in the left circle just 40 seconds later and beat a diving Jack Lafontaine to even the game at one.

Both teams exchanged goals in the third with tallies from Ryan Sandelin from the Vees and Sebastien Streau from the Vipers.

Just 32 second into overtime, the Vees closed out the game on the powerplay with a one timer buried by Eric Linell, assisted by James Miller.

The Vees move to 11-6-1-2 and prepare to host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (12-7-1-0) Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
