The final round of advance polls leading up to Saturday's civic elections are underway in Kelowna.

Polls will be open today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at four locations – Parkinson Rec Centre, City Hall, Okanagan College and UBC Okanagan.

Advance polls will also be open Thursday and Friday at Parkinson Rec Centre.

Numbers were down during the first day of advance voting in the city. Only 966 people turned up for the first day of advance polls at City Hall and Parkinson Rec Centre.

In 2014, 1,540 votes were cast on day one, while 2,063 voted on the first day in 2011.

General voting day is Saturday, when 12 voting locations will be activated around the city. They are:

• Parkinson Rec Centre
• Orchard Park shopping centre
• Evangel Church
• Springvalley Middle School
• Rutland Senior Secondary
• Capital News Centre
• Okanagan Mission Hall
• East Kelowna Community Hall
• Hollywood Road education centre
• Watson Road Elementary
• Dr. Knox Middle School
