Flasher back in prison

UPDATE 6:00 p.m.

Online court records show David Ernest Friesen appeared in Penticton court Monday, after being arrested for allegedly exposing himself to children at a park near the Penticton Safety Village Sunday.

Friesen, 66, was sentenced to 45 days in jail one year ago after being found guilty of exposing himself to a woman and children in the parking lot of the Penticton library in 2016.

As a part of the two years of probation he received for the crime, he was banned from parks and areas frequented by children. He already faces one count of breaching those conditions, related to a separate Aug. 28 incident. Charges for the Sunday incident have not been sworn yet.

ORIGINAL 12:15 p.m.

A man was arrested Sunday following an incident in which he exposed himself to two children at a Penticton park.

Const. James Grandy confirmed Monday that a man is in custody and charges have been recommended for an indecent act and for breaking probation.

A post in the Penticton community Facebook group alleged Sunday that the incident had happened at the Penticton Safety Village park, near Edmonton Avenue, which Grandy also confirmed.

The man, who police declined to name, is expected in court today.
