Eye on city's future

Community leaders from a diverse range of fields will discuss Kelowna's future on Friday.

The Our Future City – Our Story conference is hosted by the Urban Development Institute and will take place at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, starting at 1 p.m.

Building on the success of a similar event in 2016, the conference will explore timely issues related to the future growth and direction of Kelowna and the Okanagan.

“This conference is continuing an important discussion on the future growth and direction of Kelowna and the surrounding area,” says Kevin Johnson, conference committee chair. “We’re hitting on all of the hot topics and bringing together a fantastic lineup of speakers to help us define Our Story.”

Topics will include:

  • Technology’s influence on the way we build cities, communities and homes
  • The changing nature of transportation needs and how best to serve the community
