Guide the city on parks

The City of Penticton is seeking members for its newly formed parks committee.

The 13-member panel will guide the city’s hand in managing its green space now that the 2018 Parks and Recreation Master Plan has been adopted by the city.

The voting group will make recommendations to city council in regards to park use, leasing of park space, community engagement and park bylaws.

Thirteen members are being sought, including one member from School District 67 and a dozen from the community on the basis of their knowledge or experience in community parks and recreation, such as organized sports, water based activities, trails and more.

Penticton residents interested in being appointed to the committee are invited to submit an application and resume to the city by Oct. 31, 2018. Selected applicants will serve a term ending Dec. 31, 2019.
