Convoy for Annalise

A convoy of big rigs rolled through Maple Ridge on Sunday in memory of a teenager killed in a crash last month.

Annalise Gardner, 16, was killed when the car she was in crashed down a steep embankment July 31. The driver suffered serious injuries, and another passenger was in critical condition.

Convoy organizer Aaron Lewis and Gardner's father are both truck drivers.

"It just put a lump in a lot of people's throats," Lewis said of the tragedy.

"All the drivers are just getting together in a show of support ... just to show that it's like one big family."

"I can't thank them enough," said grandmother Anita McPherson. "They've been so kind and thoughtful."

"It's sad, you know, because she had just started her life. It's terrible."

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
