Fires in the Regional District of Central Kootenay are threatening communities on the west side of the Lower Arrow Lakes as well as on the east side near Kimberley.

The Emergency Operations Centre issued an evacuation alert due to the potential danger to life and health from the Renata Creek and Dog Creek wildfires.

The alert is intended to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it become necessary.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an evacuation order; however you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
