RCMP arrested a 49-year-old man Thursday after shots were fired inside a Nanaimo home.

Police received numerous calls from neighbours after gunfire was heard around 12:30 a.m.

A shotgun, two rifles, cannabis and a white powdery substance were seized, and the man was held in custody overnight.

The man faces a number of firearms and drug related charges. 

Two children were in the home, and the Ministry of Children and Family Development is also investigating.
