Volunteer for Terry Fox Run

It is a September tradition that holds an extra special meaning in Canadian culture.

From coast to coast to coast, millions of Canadians have participated in various Terry Fox runs for almost 40 years.

Hundreds of millions of dollars have been raised for cancer treatments and research, and awareness would not be where it is today, if not for  Terry Fox and the charitable runs that bear his name.

The Terry Fox Run is the world's largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research, and over $750 million has been raised in his name, as of January 2018.

All of this isn't possible without dedicated volunteers.

Terry Fox volunteers are needed this year for Vernon.

"The Terry Fox Run has been with us in Vernon since 1985," praises Donna White, British Columbia and Yukon Provincial Director. "An astounding $183,000 has been raised at the Vernon Run for innovative cancer research."

Volunteers are needed to strengthen Vernon’s Terry Fox Run and make it an even bigger success than ever before," stated White.

As a volunteer, your responsibilities may include recruiting committee members, confirming the route, promoting the run, and overseeing run day activities on Sunday, September 16th

If you wish to volunteer with a truly grassroots organization that values all contributions, and whose mission it is to help every cancer patient, please contact Donna White at 1.888.836.9786 or [email protected] for more information. "We bet you’ll be glad you did," stated White.

"I'm not a dreamer, and I'm not saying this will initiate any kind of definitive answer or cure to cancer, but I believe in miracles. I have to," — Terry Fox.
