Falcons fly into playoffs

The Kelowna Falcons finished the regular season on a high note, picking up a victory in the final game of the 2018 campaign and earning a series win over the Wenatchee AppleSox with an 11-3 victory on Wednesday night at Elks Stadium.

For the second consecutive night, Kelowna’s offence collected 17 hits and brought home double digits in runs with Dan Pruitt having his second straight three RBI night along and an accumulation of seven Falcons hitters to have RBI’s on the night to help Kelowna finish the year strong with a series win over the AppleSox.

The other news on the night for Kelowna pertained to the out-of-town scoreboard as with the Portland Pickles 10-3 victory over the Victoria HarbourCats meant the Falcons are playoff bound for the third time in the last four seasons.

The Falcons are one of four teams in the West Coast League to contend for the postseason and will begin their playoff run on Friday night with Game #1 of their best-of-three series against the Bellingham Bells at Elks Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. with tickets available on the Falcons website or at the door ahead of the opening of the ballgame.
