Mediation broke off between nearly 700 striking members of the BC Government and Service Employee's Union and Gateway Casinos Saturday afternoon, in the latest step OF a several-week-old conflict between the two groups.
Talks have been on and off since workers walked off the job June 29, asking for what they determine to be a living wage, better working situation and more respect on the job.
Visible picket lines have taken over the perimeters of the three Okanagan Gateway Casinos in Kelowna, Vernon, and Penticton, plus one in Kamloops.
So far, a new date to resume negotiations has not been set.
