Your photos: Peachland fires

On Sunday afternoon, wildfire-fighting crews made the decision to ignite a controlled burn in the area between the Mount Eneas and Munro Lake wildfires.

Weather was favourable for a burn, and combining the blazes would make the fight to control the area much easier.

Chemical-filled balls, which ignited on impact with the ground, were dropped by helicopters in the early afternoon, and the resulting plume of smoke was seen throughout the valley. Residents are assured this was not an acceleration of the fire.

Castanet readers sent in their photos of the plume.
