Eaglets saved from fire

Though the recent Shuswap Road forest fire near Kamloops caused a lot of damage, a family of eagles was saved.

The 500-acre blaze did not take down the tree on which the the eagles had built their nest and were raising several babies.

The tree stands tall and alone now, after firefighter efforts throughout the weekend.

According to BC Wildfire, the eaglets were seen attempting to learn to fly on Saturday, after the blaze around their area had been extinguished.
