Boil water through weekend

The District of Summerland expects a boil water notice for the entire community will stay in place through the weekend.

The notice was put in place Tuesday, and while the issue was quickly resolved, “fully treated water is being blended with the untreated (but chlorinated) water to recharge the system.”

“It takes time for the water to flush through the entire system and it may take until Monday or Tuesday,” the District said on its Facebook page.

Residents will be updated when the notice is lifted. Until then, all water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

Meanwhile, the RDOS announced this week a water quality advisory in Naramata has been lifted. It had been in place since June 13.
