No power for thousands

UPDATED: 1:52 p.m.

BC Hydro Crews have made significant progress, but more than 10,000 customers are still without power throughout the Okanagan/Kootenay and Thompson/Shuswap regions.

BC Hydro is reporting 89 outages through the regions, several of which still have no estimated time of restored power.

A brief but powerful storm knocked power out for thousands of customers overnight.

Downed power lines from fallen trees and branches are primarily to blame.
