City water gets the all clear

A water quality advisory has been lifted for all City of Kelowna water utility customers.

In consultation with Interior Health, drinking water from city intakes has been monitored, tested, and is consistently showing good results.

The initial advisory was issued on May 15 due to increased turbidity, and was expanded on May 25 to include all city water users.

“Turbidity levels at all city water intakes have dropped into the normal range again. Now that we are seeing consistently high water quality across the board, we can confidently rescind the advisory,” says Ed Hoppe, the city's water quality and customer care supervisor.

A water quality advisory for South East Kelowna Irrigation District customers, issued May 31, remains in effect.
