The minimum wage increase didn't go far enough.
The Okanagan is one of the most expensive areas to live in Canada, and it's bad enough we have many employers who believe in the "Sunshine Tax." Because it's such a nice place to live, they think they can pay peanuts.
People have expenses such as food, rent, or mortgages.
If Alberta can pay higher, then so can we, given that rent and housing prices are far lower in Edmonton and Calgary.
They say a living wage in BC is at least $17 an hour, and we haven't even come close to that yet.
