Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the entire Okanagan Valley, including Vernon, Kelowna, and Penticton.

A building ridge of high pressure will bring sunny and hot weather over the next few days. Daytime high temperatures will reach near 30 C today in the Central Interior and near 35 C in the Southwest Interior. The warm weather is expected to persist until Wednesday.

The increased heat could also impact the province's wildfire rating, remember if you see a fire or irresponsible behaviour you are asked to call 1 800 663-5555 or *5555 from a cell phone. Information from the public is crucial to ensuring wildfires are responded to as soon as possible.
