Some evac orders lifted

The Town of Osoyoos has rescinded mandatory evacuation orders for 15 properties along Solana Key Drive as the lake continues to recede.

Another 80 homes on 67 properties have also been taken off evacuation alert.

A handful of Osoyoos area properties remain under evacuation order, such as the Coast Hotel on Main Street and Willow Beach RV Park on the north end of the lake. An interactive map of evacuation alerts and orders in the region can be found here

“The Town of Osoyoos continues to conduct rapid damage assessment of evacuated properties to determine if homes or structures are safe as lake levels continue to drop,” a news release states.

Osoyoos Lake is now at 914.93 feet, down from 916.38 feet on May 12.

The Zosel Dam has been wide-open since March, but the International Lake Board of Control tries to keep Osoyoos Lake at 912 feet.
