Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a high-risk sexual offender.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Richard Darren Rondeau, 33, who failed to return to his Vancouver halfway house on Wednesday night.

He has been assessed by Corrections Canada as a high-risk to re-offend.

Rondeau is currently serving a five-year-and-10-month sentence after being convicted of a number of offences related to sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl he met at a party in Winnipeg in 2011.

Those offences include uttering threats causing death or bodily harm, overcome resistance by choke and assault and forcible confinement.

Rondeau is 5’8” tall, 165 lbs., with blue eyes and very short brown hair.

Anyone who sees Rondeau, or who has information about his whereabouts, is asked to call 911 immediately.
