Rowdy weekend in Chase

It was a rowdy start to the long weekend for Chase RCMP.

Police were called to two separate incidents involving intoxicated people causing a disturbance.

Cpl. Scott Linklater said on May 18 at 1:45 a.m., police received a report of a man yelling, screaming and throwing loose items in the 700 block of Shuswap Avenue.

“Police attended and located an intoxicated 17 year old male. The youth was placed under arrest and lodged in detachment cells until sober,” said Linklater.

Then less than 24 hours later on May 19 at 12:55 a.m., police received a report of a disturbance at the St. Ives Provincial Park Campground.

Linklater said callers reported an intoxicated man being combative and uttering threats. Police attended and found a 25-year-old Kamloops man who was arrested, lodged in detachment cells until sober and released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
