Cops seize funny money

An off-duty cop helped bust a motorhome thief and take drugs and counterfeit cash off the street Wednesday night.

The South Okanagan RCMP member called in a stolen motorhome being driven toward West Kelowna about 11 p.m.

The Itasca motorhome had been reported stolen from a Penticton home on April 26.

Officers located the RV parked on the 2400 block of Dobbin Road in West Kelowna and arrested a male suspect without incident.

“During a search of the suspect ... police seized a small amount of suspected heroin along with hundreds of dollars in suspected counterfeit US $20 bills,” says RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“RCMP also determined that the 38-year-old Penticton man, also believed to be an unlicensed and prohibited driver, was in breach of his court-imposed conditions of release.”

Kory Horwood is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of counterfeit money and breach of his undertaking.
