Opening day at Davison's

It's that time of year again when Davison Orchards Country Village open their doors for the spring, summer and fall.

It's an exciting year for the family business as they celebrate 85 years of farming on the land.

The orchard opens for the season today, May 1.

"Everybody is hungry to get out and about," said Tamra Davison, marketing director at Davison Orchards. "We've had a long hard winter and things are looking fantastic at the farm."

"The grass is green and the apricot and peach blossoms are out, we're looking forward to a fantastic bloom this year on the apples as well."

The market has been open for 34 years.

The public can expect:

  • Improvements to the kids play area this year
  • The bakery has been redone with big windows so the public can better watch the bakers in action
  • A fully stocked gift shop
  • Spring tours on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, as well as on Tuesday.
  • Freshly baked good and homemade cafe items
  • Events throughout the spring, summer and fall
  • All the same happy animals

And much more.

"It's a warm friendly feeling when you come here and we really go out of our way to make everything look beautiful and inviting," Davison said. "It's a great gathering place for our community."

"You can just come and sit and enjoy the view."

Davison says the fruit season is right on schedule and apple blossoms should be in bloom by the middle of May just in time for Mothers Day.

Up until July 1 the hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. everyday.

Starting July 1 the orchard is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday's and Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Events will be ongoing all summer while they celebrate 85 years of farming.
