Garbage truck hits school

Madison Erhardt

Students and teachers were delayed starting their day this morning at Vancouver Career College after a truck drove by and hit the side of the building.

"A garbage truck drove by and hit the corner," said Director Monica Klanyi.

Klayni says it happens fairly often.

"It's pretty common because it's a very tight corner. It's tight and it sticks out. I think the design is maybe not the best," she said.

Dozens of students gathered outside the building waiting for the ok to re-enter.

"We will take a few minutes and then we will go back to class," Klanyi added.

The truck driver was very cooperative according to a teacher at Vancouver Career college.

"They were really awesome. They were apologizing and they cleaned up nicely for us," she said.
