Argument ends in death

A 55-year-old man is dead after an assault early Sunday morning in Vancouver.

Just before 1:30 a.m. police and ambulance responded to Kingsway and Nanaimo Street for reports of an injured man.

The man, Dam Minh Huu, was transported to hospital where he later died.

Detectives have already arrested a 48-year-old Vancouver man for Huu's murder and are continuing to investigate the incident.

The evidence gathered, so far, indicates that the two men, who knew each other, got into an argument on the street a few blocks from where Huu was found.

The argument escalated quickly, resulting in Huu's death.

Detectives are not looking for any other suspects and do not feel that the public is at risk.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information is asked to call VPD Homicide at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The incident remains under investigation and police aren't releasing any more information at this time.

This is the seventh homicide in Vancouver this year.
