A 50-year-old Chase area man was airlifted to hospital in Kamloops after suffering a severe cut to his hand in a fight.
Police were called to an area near Adams Lake in the afternoon of April 17. When they arrived they found the 50-year-old man with his wound.
He was flown to Royal Inland Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries.
The other man in the fight, a 44-year-old, also from the Chase area initially fled the scene.
Police learned that during the fight the suspect that ran allegedly used a machete-style knife and struck the victim causing the injury.
The suspect later turned himself in.
Chase RCMP is recommending charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and mischief.
The two men are casual acquaintances. RCMP don't know the motive for the fight but know that alcohol was a factor.
