Holding gas hostage?

Chelsea Powrie

With Monday's announcement from Alberta that new legislation will be enacted allowing the province to restrict the amount of oil and gas products leaving the province, the threat is hanging heavily in the air of a potential blockade against B.C. to put the pressure on in the Trans Mountain pipeline fight.

Given that Penticton is home to many Albertans, and gas prices here are already high, Castanet hit the streets to find out how locals feel about Premier Rachel Notley's tactics.

Many felt it would be unfair of Alberta to put pressure on British Columbians like that.

Others felt it wouldn't be the end of the world, and B.C. could easily buy gas elsewhere.
