A woman hiking a mountain in Lake Country says she heard a coyote howling nearby on Sunday.

Luisa Nestman said it was about 8:30 a.m. when she spotted the animal on Spion Kop.

She posted the video on the community Facebook page Lake Country BC to alert others.

“He was calling for reinforcements,” she said. “Be aware out there.”

Other people commenting on the post thanked Nestman for alerting them, as they were planning on heading out with their dogs.
