Madison Erhardt

The five week international CrossFit competition is almost complete.

Athletes and spectators watched as blood and tears went into the final workout of the CrossFit Open at Bodyshop Training Centre in West Kelowna.

"Bodyshop has an intramural challenge done on a global scale. People from around the world have been competing throughout the five weeks," said Coach Ryan Stokes.

Over five weeks, the CrossFit games releases a workout one day a week. The goal is to complete as many rounds or reps as possible in a certain amount of time.

"Fitness to us is work capacity based on time or a distance given. Week five is thrusters and chest to bar pull-ups," Stokes said.

The CrossFit games are an annual event done in gyms across the world.

"The intramurals and the Open are a great way for our athletes to connect to the community. People from all of our different classes get to come together," Stokes added.

CrossFit athletes have until Monday at 5:00 p.m. to submit their scores.
