A local musician has signed his first recording deal in the industry.

Twenty-two-year-old Mason Burns, from Penticton, signed on with a Summerland-based independent record label called Caron Maria Records. 

Burns has been working on a studio album for six months, which is expected to be released in the summer.

He has also been the lead singer and guitarist in a three-man band called Cosmic Brew, which released a self-titled album on iTunes in March of 2016.

Burns will be playing a solo show in Penticton next month where he will preview many of the songs on his new album. 

His show April 6 will be at The Dream Cafe, located at 67 Front Street.
