Someone has made off with this sign from a local fire department.

Someone has made off with a sign for a local fire department, a day after they bought it.

Wilson's Landing Fire Department Fire Chief Ronaye Beck said the department purchased the three-foot-by-four-foot sign to promote a volunteer recruitment open house April 4.

But the sign was stolen soon after it was put out.

“This sandwich-board sign was posted in our neighbourhood yesterday afternoon (March 20), but unfortunately we discovered this morning that someone had stolen our sign sometime during the night,” said Beck. “Not only did they steal an expensive sign which we just purchased yesterday, but we also lost our advertising for recruitment. I'm devastated that someone would steal from our local volunteer fire department and would like to plea that whoever took our sign please bring it back.”
