Robbery suspect sought

Vernon police have released surveillance footage of a man believed to be behind a Vernon liquor store robbery.

Police say the man entered the liquor store in the 6300 block of Stickle Road just before 11:00 p.m. March 16.

He allegedly produced a handgun and demanded cash from an employee. The man then ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police were unable to find the man, but did find clothing believed to belong to the suspect nearby.

Police are hoping the clothing provides evidence that will help in identifying the suspect.

The suspect is described as about 5’9 tall, 45 - 50 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweater with the lettering Metal Mulisha on the front and back, a dark coloured bandanna across the face and a grey and black ball cap with snap-on written on the front.

"Robberies involving businesses can be stressful for employees, however, many businesses thankfully have best practices in place which includes the use of video surveillance," says Const. Kelly Brett. "If you recognize this alleged suspect or have more information about this incident please contact the Vernon RCMP or Crime Stoppers."
