Vipers tame Wild in game 1

Niko Karamanis led the charge for the Vernon Vipers, who trounced the visiting Wenatchee Wild 7-1 in game one of the second round of BC Hockey League playoffs.

Karamanis recorded a hat trick as the hometown team took a 1-0 lead in the best of seven Interior Division showdown.

Jagger Williamson collected his fourth of the playoffs in the win, with Coleton Bilodeau, Alex Swetlikoff and Cameron Trott also adding singles.

The game marks the fifth straight playoff win for the Snakes after dispatching the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in four games in round one.

Game two goes tonight at Kal Tire Place. The puck drops at 6 p.m.

The action will then shift to Wenatchee for games three and four March 20-21.

Should a game five be necessary, the teams will return to Kal Tire Place March 23. Games six and seven will alternate between Vernon and Wenatchee March 24 and 26.
