Someone broke into the locked compound of the Kent Harrison SAR and stole the 8M Spirit of Harrison rescue vessel.

The stolen search and rescue vessel taken from the Kent Harrison SAR Friday has been found by police in a Chilliwack berry field. 

The boat is being towed to the Chilliwack RCMP.

Someone has stolen a vital piece of search and rescue equipment in the Lower Mainland.

A Facebook post on the British Columbia Search and Rescue Association page said at 10 p.m. Friday, someone broke into the locked compound of the Kent Harrison SAR and stole the 8M Spirit of Harrison rescue vessel.

The trailered vessel was last seen heading west on Highway 1 near the Prest Rd overpass, near Chilliwack.

Anyone spotting the boat is urged to call 911 immediately.
