Sex assault sentence

A 44-year-old man arrested in Regina has been found guilty of sexually assaulting two University of Victoria students in their Saanich home back in 2016.

David Robert Hope has been found guilty of seven charges against him including break and enter, unlawful confinement or imprisonment, two counts of sexual assault and two counts of robbery.

The incident happened on Jan. 27, 2016, when Hope attacked and sexually assaulted two UVic international students inside their apartment.

Court also heard Hope led the pair to a nearby bank machine, where they managed to escape and flee to a coffee shop.

He was arrested two months later in Regina and brought back to Victoria for the trial.
