5 days of Homeless

Alanna Kelly

Ever wonder what the homeless have to deal with on a daily basis?

Students across Canada will experience what it's like sleeping outside and embracing the elements of the outdoors for five days.

From March 19 to 23, students will sleep outside to create awareness and raise donations for organizations supporting the homeless in Canada.

"It’s important to us to get involved with the community and to help make Kelowna the best it can be. We believe by increasing awareness it can lead to a larger improvement than we can imagine," said UBC Okanagan's Victoria Kray.

"Our goal this year has been to work with local businesses and community partners so that we can all give back and work together," Kray added.

Students at UBCO are hoping to raise $2000 to H.O.P.E. Outreach.

H.O.P.E is the nighttime outreach for homeless and exploited women in the Kelowna area, specifically in the downtown core.
