Feel-good music for a cause

A unique concert coming to Kelowna will support the local branch of the BC Cancer Foundation.

The Conquer Cancer Tour by Gary Cable & Nearly Famous features legendary music by an eight-piece pop-rock band with a full horn section whose members have performed with some of the top names of the last 50 years.

Comprised of A-list live and session musicians, members have performed and recorded with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Bryan Adams, Michael Buble, the Pointer Sisters, David Foster, Natalie Cole, Chilliwack, Powder Blues, Nickelback, Ian Tyson, Sarah McLachlan, Ray Charles and many more.

Nearly Famous performs May 12 at Kelowna Community Theatre. Showtime is 7 p.m.

The band will play classic hits from the golden age of pop-rock music – those powerhouse and feel-good songs you love but rarely hear live, due to their demanding arrangements.

Groove to the music of Chicago, Toto, Steely Dan, Earth Wind & Fire, Lighthouse, Stevie Wonder, Blood Sweat & Tears, Elton John, Pablo Cruise and many others.

Tickets are on sale now at www.selectyourtickets.com and the Prospera Place box office.
