The 300 block of Main Street is now officially closed for construction in Penticton, but the city is hoping to alleviate some of the inconvenience by offering free street and city-owned lot parking for the project's duration.
From February to June, yellow bags indicating free parking will be placed over meters from Lakeshore Drive to Padmore Avenue along both Martin and Robinson Streets.
City-owned parking lots off the 200, 300 and 400 blocks are also free.
Two hour parking limits still apply.
