Forman back in court

A man who has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder in connection to the death of his wife and his two children just days before Christmas will appear in court for the third time on Thursday.

Jacob Daniel Forman, 34, was arrested at his Rutland home on Dec. 19 and has been in jail since.

Clara Forman, 33, and her two daughters Karina, 8, and Yesenia, 7, were believed to have been killed between Dec. 17 and Dec. 19. Their bodies were found inside their home on Bolotzky Court Dec. 19.

Forman's last court appearance was on Jan. 18, during which he appeared stone faced.

Clara moved to Canada almost 10 years ago after meeting Forman while he was studying to become a preacher in Mexico. The pair moved back to British Columbia after marrying.

Family members are trying to cope with the loss.

April Marie Carlson, Clara’s sister, said the family is struggling, but finding ways to heal.

“We are grateful for so much support and care,” she said. “People that loved my sister and my nieces have reached out and shown us such amazing hearts.”
