Urn returned to victim

Word of mouth on social media has helped a victim of theft reclaim his father's ashes.

A burial urn containing the ashes of his father was stolen, and after the victim posted his story on Facebook, word quickly spread.

"“A friend of the man, received a message advising that the burial urn was currently located at a Penticton residence," stated RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. "Arrangements were made for it to be returned during a private meet in Penticton."

The ashes were stolen from the victim's vehicle.

"All is well that ends well, in this case," stated Cpl. Moskaluk. "Again it’s a reminder to not leave items in plain view in your vehicle, especially not loved ones. ”
