Temperature records fall

Daily temperature records were smashed throughout the South and Central Okanagan on Thursday.

An Okanagan Valley inversion sent the mercury shooting skywards, breaking records in Kelowna, Penticton, Osoyoos, Summerland and Princeton.

Penticton was the warmest spot in the Valley at 15.2 C, over a 1945 record of 11.1 C.

Summerland also broke a record from 1945, with a high of 14 C.

Kelowna registered 9.7 C, above a 20-year-old record of 7.7 C.

Osoyoos peaked at 13.2 C, above a record of 8.3 C set in 1967.

Finally, Princeton eclipsed their 7.5 C record set in 2015 with a high on Thursday of 8.6 C.
