Castanet at the Olympics

For the next two weeks, Canadians from coast to coast to coast will be fixated on the 2018 Winter Olympic games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

And, while the signature event, ice hockey, will be devoid of NHL players, there are still plenty of Canadian athletes to cheer on, and plenty from right here in the Okanagan.

Eight Okanagan athletes will compete over the next 14 days, while another, Ian Deans, will serve as an alternate.

While the 17-hour time difference means several events will take place in the wee hours of the morning Pacific time, Castanet will make sure you don't miss out on the progress of our Olympians.

We'll be following Julie Ransom and Emma Lunder (biathlon), Andi Naude (moguls), Kelsey Serwa (ski cross), Andrew Ebbett (hockey), Kevin Hill and Tess Critchlow (snowboard cross), and Justin Kripps (bobsled).

The page will feature up-to-date Canadian medal tallies as well as information on each of our eight athletes.

Ransom and Lunder are up first. Both will both compete in the 7.5 kilometre sprint Saturday morning at 3 a.m.

Naude had the second best run in qualifying for the women's moguls. The final begins at 4 a.m. Sunday.
